Newest pair of BBVA’s Greenwich Excellence awards head west
Shortly after being recognized by Global Finance magazine for its cash and treasury management services, BBVA USA earned another pair of awards today from financial industry research firm Greenwich Associates.
The honors have a western twist to them, as BBVA USA earned two 2019 Greenwich Excellence Awards in Middle Market Banking and Small Business Banking - both for its work in the West region. The middle market nod was in the “Cash Management - Overall Satisfaction” category and the small business award was in the “Likelihood to Recommend” category.
“An award by an organization like Greenwich Associates is enough of an honor to get excited about, but two at the same time is a huge milestone for our West Region team,” said BBVA USA West Region Executive Jeff Talpas. “Our team works tirelessly for our clients to create opportunities, promote financial health for their businesses, and ensure their satisfaction year-round. To see the team’s work highlighted nationally has been extremely fulfilling, and further motivates us to do even more in 2020.”
The Greenwich Excellence Awards are based on interviews with nearly 28,000 executives across the country, and other criteria, and only a relatively small number of more than 600 eligible providers are recognized across a series of qualitative metrics measured by the firm. Greenwich Associates is the leading global provider of market intelligence and advisory services to the financial services industry, specializing in providing fact-based insights and practical recommendations to improve business results.
The West Region team saw a series of milestones from its commercial leadership in 2019, including the appointments of Heather Sanchez and James Ligman to city president positions in key California markets, and BBVA Colorado CEO Andy Wykstra winning a Banker of Distinction Award from the Colorado Bankers Association. The bank’s Los Angeles City President, Stephen Flynn, was also included in the Los Angeles Business Journal’s list of Most Influential Lenders in 2019.
The awards also come as the bank shifts to its new 5-year strategic plan, which focuses on becoming the best-bank-in-the-best-region (dubbed “BiB”). The plan provides an ambitious road map aimed at growing the bank while transforming the way it does business through continuous improvements in data, technology and operations.
This is the fifth consecutive year in which the bank has been recognized by Greenwich Associates. Previous awards have included honors in cash management, middle market banking, small business banking, and wealth management customer service.
