BBVA Mexico and Liga MX renew their alliance for a further three years
BBVA Mexico and Liga BBVA MX have just announced the signing of a three-year sponsorship agreement for the BBVA MX, BBVA MX Expansion and BBVA MX Women’s soccer leagues. The aim is to continue growing Mexican soccer, including players and teams alike, by promoting key virtues such as hard work, teamwork, tenacity, self-improvement and fair play, while also transmitting these values to fans.
On signing the new deal, Eduardo Osuna, vice-president and general manager of BBVA Mexico, remarked that the relationship between the bank and Liga MX is more than just an agreement, as both institutions have been working closely together since day one to strengthen and consolidate the sport of soccer within the country.
“For BBVA, one of the greatest achievements this decade has been the creation and ongoing success of the Liga BBVA MX Women’s Soccer League, which has opened up a whole new market, but above all has professionalized the more than 455 women who currently compete within the country.
Mikel Arriola, president of Liga BBVA MX, stressed that the commitment of both institutions goes well beyond the soccer pitch with the aim of educating and instilling key virtues such as equality, respect, peace and tolerance through the Somos Tolerancia (We are Tolerance) campaign.
