Welcome to BBVA-Labs
It’s always new times for innovation. It has always been and it will always be. It’s in our nature to challenge the model to stress the rules. Even our own model.
We’ve realized no matter how smart you are, someone else will be smarter, for sure. We realized as well an in-phase crowd will be smarter than anyone. That’s the reason we came across with the BBVA-Labs idea. There’s no single tech innovation area, there’s no single goal, there are many, and coordinated multiplicity leads towards success.
BBVA-Labs is born as a “Crowd-Inventing” team, cross department, cross-technology, cross-country, cross-fun.
Having said that, BBVA-Labs is born as a “Crowd-Inventing” team, cross department, cross-technology, cross-country, cross-fun. This is a BBVA Innovation in Technology Commonwealth made up of anyone who can provide advances in the tech area at BBVA, no matter which area of innovation you are involved with. Well, there’s one exception: we do like empirical outcomes, so please avoid joining if you are willing to enlighten the readers with some fancy trendy magazine abstract. We’re committed to share with the community where have we reached to in an experimental way, rather than theoretical, and in a multidisciplinary manner. That’s the reason of the name: we are a lot of labs, empirical labs. As far as we can, we’ll share source code as well at github.com/BBVA.
The scope is boundless: AI, Infrastructure, Communications, Organizational, Big Data, MicroServices, Containers… this list is becoming obsolete as far we’re writing it. We want it all.
Why do we do this? Because we know spreading knowledge brings back good outcomes
So there’s the big question, why do we do this? Well that’s easy to answer: Because we know spreading knowledge brings back good outcomes. Always, period. No matter they came in the form of acceptance or rejections, collaboration or underestimation, they are all good as far as they reinforce us go on through the right path or to quit as soon as possible. Fail often, fail fast.
This is just beginning and it will reach as far as we all can push it to. We encourage you to send us your feedback to BBVA-Labs@bbva.com and, if you are a BBVAer, please join us sending your proposals to be published.
If you are an innovator, a real one, those are exciting times to live in. Let’s make them even better.
