Advanced data analytics plays a crucial role at BBVA, enabling the bank to provide customers with increasingly personalized products and services while streamlining and globalizing internal processes. To further enhance the development of these analytical solutions, BBVA has established the Analytics Transformation Unit. This new initiative combines generative AI with predictive AI to leverage historical data to forecast future trends and create greater added value for both the business and its customers.

The Analytics Transformation Unit also redefines and integrates BBVA's global network of analytics experts. This new unit represents the strategic evolution of the Business Analytics discipline, established to empower data specialists, who are key professionals who support business areas in making data-driven strategic decisions. More than 1,500 data specialists will now be unified with 1,000 data scientists responsible for developing analytical solutions, working together in a coordinated manner. Together, this team of over 2,500 experts, based across Spain, Turkey, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Peru, and Uruguay, will benefit from a unified community. This community will streamline global work processes, implement talent acquisition and retention initiatives, and offer specialized training in advanced analytics and artificial intelligence.

The Analytics Transformation Unit aims to achieve several key objectives: shortening the time between the development of a technological solution and its ability to deliver value after implementation, fostering the global development of solutions, and equipping all Group employees with training in data and AI. Additionally, this unit has the critical responsibility of ensuring that all data and artificial intelligence developments and applications fully comply with legal requirements and internal governance standards.

"The transformation aims to align advances in advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and talent management with key strategic priorities, such as enhancing the Group's operational excellence, expanding the customer base, and supporting customers in improving their financial health,” explains Ricardo García Martín, Global Head of Analytics Transformation. “Analytics Transformation not only enhances our capabilities but also reshapes the way we leverage data to drive business transformation and deliver value to our customers.”
