Houston Dash kick start their season at BBVA Compass Stadium
As BBVA Compass Stadium gears up for its five year anniversary, the Houston Dash opened up their season at the venue on a high note, with a 2-0 victory over the visiting Chicago Red Stars.
On the field, Kealia Ohai and Rachel Daly both provided the team’s first goals of the season. Off of it, BBVA Compass provided a winning formula with special offers for fans and BBVA Compass cardholders.
“The team showed tonight why they have an extremely bright future ahead of them,” said BBVA Compass Chief Marketing and Digital Sales Officer Jennifer Dominiquini. “They have talent, passion and possess the values we have in our 10 Bright Principles. We wanted to contribute and create opportunities for fans to enjoy the game and win a few cool things along the way.”
Benefits for BBVA Compass cardholders on Saturday included private entry to the game through the VIP Club section and access to the VIP Club area. The first 20 cardholders to show up to BBVA Compass Stadium also received free parking before the game.
The Dash, meanwhile, showed fans why this season could be a different story than last, with a stifling defense and resilient play in the suffocating Texas heat. Houston Dash Managing Director Brian Ching, in a podcast with BBVA Compass, spoke about how the Dash have a special opportunity in front of them this year.
“I think we’ve finally built a team that’s ready to compete for the championship,” said Ching. “We have a young team, a motivated team, a team that has a chip on its shoulder, and I think they’re going to do real well.”
