BBVA launches new line of loans for energy efficient housing
BBVA launches a line of loans for developers dedicated to the construction of highly energy efficient homes. This product further demonstrates BBVA’s solid commitment to sustainability and green financing.
BBVA has launched a new segment of loans to finance the development of new homes that consume virtually no energy. This type of housing represents an important savings in the household energy bill while significantly reducing its environmental impact.
Buyers who finance their home with BBVA’s new line of green financing could benefit with a discount on their mortgage. The bank believes it is important that consumers are the ones who ultimately benefit from this discount because it is an effective way to raise awareness about how important it is to take care of the environment.
"This new loan clearly reaffirms BBVA's commitment to the environment. Our goal is to continue providing our customers a wide range of sustainable products with a positive impact on the environment. BBVA is one of the first banks that is actively contributing to the mainstream roll-out of buildings that consume almost zero energy, a fact we are very proud of," says Luis Simoes, head of enterprise clients at BBVA Spain.
BBVA is the first financial institution in Spain to launch a line of loans specifically earmarked for the construction of such energy efficient housing. The launch of this product will help foster early adoption for this standard of efficient construction and hasten its integration into Spain's pool of new housing.
