Pension funds

The BBVA Group, through its management entity Gestión de Previsión de Pensiones (GPP), has been one of the five management firms selected to manage the new government-sponsored occupational pension funds that the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration put out to tender on June 9th. GPP will manage three of the new pension funds. These savings vehicles aim to promote complementary social insurance among companies, institutions and the self-employed, with the goal of reaching €500 million under management after three years.

BBVA Plan Mercado Monetario PPI has received the award for best pension plan in the Short-Term Fixed Income category at the Expansión-Allfunds awards. BBVA Asset Management (BBVA AM) was also nominated in the categories of Best National Manager and Best Solidarity Fund.

The “BBVA Pensiones V” fund received the award for best equity pension fund in the annual event organized by the magazine, Investment & Pensions Europe (IPE). The same fund was a finalist in the ‘Emerging’ category, while the Enagás pension fund — also managed by BBVA Asset Management — was a finalist in the ‘Passive Management’ category.

BBVA customers now use digital channels to make 51 percent of their investment fund transactions. Both the bank’s web site and its mobile application have various tools that help customers make decisions about their savings and investments.
