BBVA names Antonio Bravo as Global Head of Data
BBVA has appointed Antonio Bravo as the Global Head of Data. He will replace Ricardo Martín Manjón, who’s leaving the bank to embark on new professional projects.

The area of Data was created in 2017 with direct reporting to the Group’s Chair. Since then it has accelerated the bank’s transformation into a data-driven organization, while notably increasing its capabilities in recent years. The area aims to work with business units in the development of new products and also spearhead the transformation of production processes through the strategic use of data and artificial intelligence. The specialized team of engineers and data scientists, among other professionals, includes the BBVA AI Factories in Spain, Mexico and Türkiye.
Antonio Bravo joined the bank in 2011 as part of the Strategy and M&A team, where he participated in the creation of BBVA Ventures, a business specializing in disruptive companies. He later held several positions of responsibility within the BBVA Group: Business development in South America; responsible for the global implementation of the agile methodology; Head of Strategy and Control at Engineering; and responsible for Strategy in Sustainability. Since January 2024, he is the Head of Strategy, Corporate Client Coverage and Cross-border Businesses in the areas of Sustainability and Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB).
