BBVA in 2023: A video summary
A strong performance in 2023 and forward strides in strategy driven by digitization, innovation and sustainability enabled BBVA to continue to play a key role in the transformation of the economy and create opportunities for all its stakeholders: customers, shareholders, employees and wider society.
BBVA continued its determined advance in its strategy for profitable growth. From January to December, the bank acquired more than 11 million new customers, more than 65% of whom signed up over digital channels. BBVA granted more than half a million loans to SMEs and self-employed workers, and supported the growth of more than 70,000 large companies, among many other milestones.
The channeling of sustainable business continues to see powerful growth. In 2023 alone, the Group mobilized €70 billion, thereby making for a total of more than €200 billion since 2018. This figure doubles the initial target set for the period up to 2025.
BBVA continued its determined advance in its strategy for profitable growth
For the first time in its history, BBVA topped €8 billion in profit, 26 percent up on 2022. In addition, the bank leads the European industry in terms of efficiency and profitability. These achievements will enable BBVA to strengthen its impact in all the countries within its footprint.
BBVA now looks to 2024 with confidence and determination. This is a year full of opportunities to continue growing and working toward a better world.
