BBVA gives a voice to more than 60 SMEs through its ‘Sharing Knowledge’ platform
The ‘Sharing Knowledge’ project is a further show of BBVA’s commitment to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Through this initiative, the bank supports, teaches, inspires and transforms businesses and their management team by staging talks among industry experts and discussing specific SME success stories.
The project, created by the business community for its own good, features a unique format in which SMEs share their concerns, which are then analyzed and answered by BBVA’s committee of experts, who contribute their knowledge and experience. The SMEs thus receive continuous support through the platform, enabling them to make the right business decisions based on knowledge and learning.
This year, the ‘Sharing Knowledge’ initiative has evolved to incorporate new formats. For starters, the businesses now receive support and advice from their managers and senior experts. A format of business-to-business meetings at different key junctures has also been included to address more complex business issues. The initiative now features several special chapters on key economic trends. These changes have been made so as to do a better job at catering to the specific needs of each company, by offering more personalized and effective support.
Since its inception, ‘Sharing Knowledge’ has amassed more than 43.5 million views, with more than nine million entrepreneurs viewing one or other of its chapters in 2023. In the past four years, 62 cases have been addressed, amassing almost three million hours of content viewing, which is equivalent to one hour for every SME in Spain. A total of 36 different BBVA products and services have been showcased over the course of the project, with explanations given as to how they can help with the day-to-day running of the business, according to the needs of each client. Notably, roughly half of the SMEs and companies operating in Spain have heard of ‘Sharing Knowledge,’ and 76 percent of the SMEs that have seen it know that BBVA is behind it.
Success story
The Levaduramadre franchise is an outstanding example of how this initiative can benefit businesses. According to its founder and CEO, Moncho López, his business’s involvement in ‘Sharing Knowledge’ helped to raise exposure of the franchise and enabled it to open new stores. “Not only has it increased our visibility, it has also allowed many entrepreneurs to identify with me and the values that our brand conveys. As it happens, we have future openings planned for Marbella and other locations thanks to this channel,” he said.
“The exposure we have gained through BBVA has proven to be an excellent way to convey our mission, vision and philosophy, by attracting people who are engaged and passionate about the artisan bakery business and who perhaps had not heard much about us previously. Thanks to this alliance with BBVA, we continue to press ahead with our excellent business model, thus continuing the growth and expansion of our network,” added Moncho.
‘Sharing Knowledge’ is a further example of BBVA’s unwavering commitment to SMEs and the self-employed, as it shares numerous tools and resources to ensure their ongoing development and growth. This initiative not only provides knowledge and advice, but also creates a community of learning and collaboration that drives business success.
