BBVA’s Group Executive Chairman Francisco González told a meeting of world leaders today that: “We have to transform the bank into a digital company, a services company, as soon as we can.” He was speaking at a high-level panel discussion held during the World Economic Forum at Davos entitled “The Global Business Context.” For the BBVA Chairman, the challenge is to be as efficient as the internet giants, and to attract the best digital talent.

In December, BBVA Compass published a series of articles that captured its brand promise of “creating opportunities,” honing in on efforts and investments that will positively impact underserved communities throughout the bank’s footprint. The bank also positioned itself as an engine of opportunity for people, highlighting its commitment to helping customers digitally and through an array of financial services.

Acting on its brand message and promise of “creating opportunities,” BBVA Compass continues to pave the way for people and communities throughout its footprint. Most recently, the bank dedicated time to two community service projects in San Diego as a sponsor of AFP Aware, an initiative where the Association for Financial Professionals (AFP), as part of its annual conference, partners with organizations committed to corporate and social responsibility.

Christmas and New Year’s are coming and with them, new resolutions and new dreams.  BBVA wants to celebrate these holidays by recalling that opportunities are within everyone’s reach, in line with the company’s corporate purpose: “To bring the age of opportunity to everyone. "

Carlos Torres Vila, BBVA’s Chief Executive Officer, this morning said open innovation is one of the key elements of the bank´s transformation to adapt financial services to customers’ new needs. "Keeping up with the rapid pace of change that companies are undergoing, including the financial services sector, the connection with the innovation ecosystem and entrepreneurs is essential," he said.
