The British magazine Euromoney has named BBVA the best bank in corporate social responsibility in Western Europe in 2021. The financial publication recognized BBVA's commitment to improving social, economic and environmental conditions in the region and the bank's swift response to the Covid-19 crisis. The Group was also recognized as the best bank in Mexico.

That’s why BBVA spent the early part of 2020 converting its in-person financial education program to deliver virtual classes.

BBVA USA to donate $25,000 through its foundation, supports United Way of East Central Alabama tornado relief fund
As Central Alabama deals with the aftermath of 11 confirmed tornados on March 25, BBVA USA has announced it will donate $25,000 toward community relief efforts through the BBVA Foundation. The tornado recovery grant will support the United Way of Central Alabama.

BBVA USA to donate $250K through its foundation, offers customer assistance in wake of Winter Storm Uri
As Texas deals with Winter Storm Uri and its ripple effects, BBVA USA has announced it will donate a total of $250,000 toward community relief efforts through the BBVA Foundation, and has begun offering customer assistance in the form of payment deferrals and fee waivers, among other items.
BBVA has updated its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy with several new additions following the recommendations of Spain’s financial market regulator, the CNMV, and the bank’s growing commitment to its role in sustainable banking. Furthermore, BBVA’s Board of Directors also approved the General Policy on Sustainability, which defines and establishes the general principles, main objectives and guidelines for the management and control of the Group in terms of sustainable development, with the aim of striking a balance among economic development, social development and environmental protection.

BBVA USA earns its fourth consecutive 100 percent on Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Annual Scorecard on LGBTQ Workplace Equality
BBVA USA received a perfect score of 100 on the 2021 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), the nation’s premier benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation. The bank joins the ranks of over 767 major U.S. businesses that also earned top marks this year.

Invitation Homes closes sustainability-linked revolving credit facility, BBVA USA acts as sustainable agent & coordinator
Invitation Homes [NYSE: INVH] announced that it has entered into a $3.5 billion syndicated sustainability-linked credit facility, where BBVA USA acted as sole Sustainable Agent & Coordinator, and as a Documentation Agent, Joint Lead Arranger and Joint Bookrunner.
With the announcement, Invitation Homes, a leading owner-operator of single-family rental homes, became the first U.S. Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) to both link an Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) score to pricing grid and to name a Sustainable Agent & Coordinator for their sustainability-linked revolving credit facility (RCF).

BBVA USA, in its mission to bring the age of opportunity to everyone, provided significant funding to three nonprofits in Jacksonville who are focused on growth and development of small business and entrepreneurship.
For the tenth year in a row, AFP and BBVA teamed up for AFP Aware Community Service Day. Nearly 70 treasury and finance professionals arrived at AFP 2019 in December, to give back to the community of Boston.
Climate change is “probably the greatest business disruption humankind has ever faced,” BBVA Group executive chairman Carlos Torres Vila said at the Madrid Climate Change Conference. That’s why “sustainability is a core part of our strategy. The future of finance lies in financing the future,” he stressed.
