The best restaurant of the world will offer five special dinners throughout the week for BBVA customers and guests, with a menu specially designed and assembled using local products and ingredients.

Josep Roca, sommelier and maître, travelled across Argentina to learn first-hand about the traditional techniques and the evolution of the country's wine industry. The menu that will be served at the Terrazas Bistró in La Rural trade center, Buenos Aires, sublimates both his discoveries and the brothers' interpretation of the local cuisine.

Asked by the attendees, the Roca brothers also emphasized the social dimension of an international tour that will also take them to the United States and Turkey: besides speaking at a series of conferences for students at culinary schools and the public in general, they will choose two students from public culinary institutions, who will be invited to complete 4-month internship in their Gerona restaurant.

During his address, Martín Zarich expressed his gratitude to the Roca brothers for visiting Argentina, and pointed out some of the values that led the to partner with BBVA in a tour that has revolutionized high cuisine: "For El Celler de Can Roca and for BBVA the customer stands at the center of everything we do, and that is why we’re so proud of our collaboration. Also, the social dimension of the tour also reflects our bank’s way of being.

The United States and Turkey will be the next stops of the Roca brothers’ tour

After Argentina, the Roca brothers and 40 members of the team behind world’s best restaurant will be visiting the United States and Turkey.  The BBVA - El Celler de Can Roca Tour 2015 will be travelling to Miami (12-13 August, SeaFair yatch), Birmingham (18-19 August, local country club), Houston (24-26 August, Caracol restaurant) and Instambul (August 31st –September 3rd, Salt Galata building).

The menus devised by the Catalonian chefs will include evolutions of their classic recipes, paired with wines from Spain, Argentina and the United States, specially selected by Josep Roca.

BBVA Internship Program at El Celler de Can Roca

The social spirit of the 2014 edition remains unchanged in this second edition of the gastro tour, which is made possible thanks to a global partnership between BBVA and El Celler de Can Roca.

The Roca brothers will choose two culinary students in each country they visit to support local talent. The aspiring chefs will be invited to complete a 4-month internship at the Roca brother’s restaurant in Gerona. The restaurant receives over 400 internship applications per year.

Being invited to join the El Celler de Can Roca staff can be considered as the best possible incentive. Also, the Gerona trio will be the stars of a series of conferences in every city they visit, where they will share their insights with hundreds of students.
