BBVA joins the tribute to victims of coronavirus
BBVA’s emblematic headquarters building in Madrid will be lit with a black ribbon for the 10 day mourning period decreed by the Spanish government, which began yesterday. The bank, which has devoted its efforts to help combat the health emergency, is therefore joining the tribute to the victims of the disease.
BBVA has donated €35 million to fighting COVID-19 in the countries where it operates, which was primarily used to purchase priority medical equipment, especially ventilators. The bank also designated part of this amount to help particularly vulnerable groups and to support research to fight coronavirus.
For the past two months, BBVA’s main headquarters building has been illuminated with a large red heart and a blue cross to join society’s collective applause to thank healthcare workers for their hard work.
