BBVA is once again certified as a Top Employer in Spain
For the third consecutive year, the bank received the ‘Top Employer 2025’ seal, which accredits BBVA as a role model for talent management in Spain.
"This certification recognizes organizations’ commitment to people. Receiving it for the third year in a row positions us as role models in talent management. At BBVA, we have an empathetic, winning team that is totally committed to making a positive impact on our customers and on society as a whole,” said Paul Tobin, Global Head of Talent and Culture at BBVA.
This year, the certification points to the bank’s growth in areas like professional development, recruitment, listening to employees, onboarding and leadership. It is important to note that over the past year, the bank has enhanced training for 18,000 team leaders with a series of tools to strengthen leadership and professional growth in the workforce. Other initiatives highly regarded in the Top Employer analysis included the mentoring program and the ‘Opportunity’ tool, which provides employees individual, personalized advice on their professional development.
In 2024, the bank launched a new job portal where any candidate can view available positions and employee testimonies. It has also evolved its onboarding program for new hires, with significant benefits for candidates and the company. Both measures have resulted in notable progress in talent retention and the creation of a positive experience for employees.
Commitment to people
Being certified as a Top Employer showcases an organization’s dedication to a better workplace and exhibits this through excellent HR policies and people practices. The Top Employers Institute program certifies organizations based on the participation and results of a survey that covers topics including people strategy, work environment, talent acquisition, learning, diversity, equity and inclusion, wellbeing and more.
“Consistency in a not-so-consistent world?,” reflects Top Employers Institute CEO David Plink. He says: “Amidst constant change—through technological advances, economic shifts, and evolving social landscapes—it is inspiring to see people and organizations rise to the challenge. This year, the Top Employers Certification Programme highlights the dedication of our Top Employers as they continue to set the standard, consistently delivering world-class HR strategies and practices. These Top Employers strive to foster growth and wellbeing, all while enriching the world of work. We are proud to celebrate these people-first leaders and teams as the Top Employers for 2025!”
In this edition, the programme has certified and recognized over 2,400 Top Employers in 125 countries or regions across five continents.
