BBVA Compass throws super-sized celebrations
This weekend, BBVA Compass celebrated professional football’s biggest event in Houston, Texas and Birmingham, Ala., throwing super-sized celebrations that featured such celebrities as country music artist Jake Owen, NBA legend Robert Horry and lifestyle expert Sandra Lee.
The events were staged as community parties to celebrate the bank’s two key markets, extend the overall big game experience and generate excitement leading up to the big game on Feb. 5.
“What a weekend this has been,” said BBVA Compass Chief Marketing and Digital Sales Officer Jennifer Dominiquini. “We brightened up two of our markets in a big way and extended the big game experience to everyone. It was truly an amazing, bright celebration of the cities we call home.”

Houston Live Bright Bash
BBVA Compass, BBVA Compass Stadium and CBS Radio hosted the Live Bright Bash on Jan. 21, ahead of professional football’s biggest event and its festivities. Country music artist Jake Owen headlined with country music artist RaeLynn, Tex-Mex pop rock group The Last Bandoleros and country singer and BBVA Compass brand ambassador Tyler Dial appearing.
The event, which was free to the public, was a special celebration, meant to showcase Houston and its many communities in the lead up to the city’s role as host for the big game on Feb. 5.
Mayor Sylvester Turner was on hand to kick off the celebration and thank all who make the city shine.
“When we say Live Bright, we truly #LiveBright,” Dominiquini said. “The entire evening, start to finish, was a Texas-sized celebration of Houston and Houstonians. We’re ready to roll out the red carpet to visitors in anticipation for Feb.5!"

Birmingham Live Bright Bash
On Jan. 22, BBVA Compass sponsored its Live Bright Bash in Birmingham, Ala., a celebration that included five simultaneous NFC and AFC Championship Watch Parties at various Birmingham locations in one day.
The parties were part of the bank’s lead up to professional football’s biggest game on Feb. 5, and hosted by on-air personalities from Summit Media radio stations. Birmingham Mayor William Bell and former University of Alabama basketball star and NBA legend Robert Horry made special appearances.
“In spite of the rainy weather, we had such a good time celebrating with Birmingham today,” said BBVA Compass Birmingham Market CEO Andrea Smith. “Having Mayor Bell and Robert Horry on hand added another layer to what was a great day.”
