BBVA Compass mobile app deemed a leader by Javelin Strategy & Research for its ease of use
BBVA Compass was recognized as a leader in the most critical category in Javelin Strategy & Research's 2017 Mobile Banking Scorecard, with the independent research firm commending the bank's app for its ease of use in creating an intuitive, mobile-first experience for its clients.
Javelin Strategy & Research's competitive analysis of the nation's top 28 financial institutions examines more than 150 mobile banking features in six critical areas to determine how well the banks are keeping pace with consumers' expectations: ease of use, security empowerment, financial fitness, money movement, customer service, and account opening.
"Ease of use" was the most heavily weighted category in the study, reflecting its higher impact on consumers' overall satisfaction, and BBVA Compass was one of only three banks given the "Leader" designation in the category.
We've tried to stay one step ahead of consumers' expectations and give them a bank in their pocket that they can use whenever they need it, wherever they are.
"There are thousands of banks in the U.S., and every one of them likely knows that the future is mobile," said BBVA Compass Head of Mobile and Online Banking Alex Carriles. "The fact that Javelin Strategy & Research deemed our app a leader in 'ease of use' is a huge accomplishment for our team. We've tried to stay one step ahead of consumers' expectations and give them a bank in their pocket that they can use whenever they need it, wherever they are."
Javelin, in considering the apps' ease of use, judged them for their:
-- Range of login options
-- Pre-login access to balance and transactions
-- Intuitive top-level navigation
-- Robust sorting/searching of transaction data
-- In-app search function
-- Interface options/personalization
This is not the first time Javelin Strategy & Research has recognized BBVA Compass' digital offerings. It recognized the mobile app as a leader in Functionality for three consecutive years, and also in Most Comprehensive Alerts in 2016. (These categories were expanded and reorganized this year as Javelin enhanced its Mobile Banking Scorecard methodology.) In addition, it recognized BBVA Compass as a leader in Financial Fitness in its 2017 Online Banking Scorecard, praising the bank for providing a notable online banking experience that guides customers on a financial journey.
