BBVA has spent years developing its Corporate Responsibility initiatives through a variety of different programs such as higher education and vocational training scholarships; entrepreneurial programs and personal finance literacy for high school students, businesswomen, and the general public; and an ambitious program to give backpacks to girls and boys throughout the country.

In Colombia, BBVA supports a group of national athletic stars who have found the bank to be a great ally to accomplish their goals. Today, triathletes, tennis players, BMX bikers and even a freediver are on the bank’s starting line.

For BBVA, the Hay Festival Cartagena de Indias offers a wonderful opportunity to interact with customers, journalists, intellectuals and national opinion leaders.

Although it took Ruta BBVA more than 27 years to visit Colombia for the first time, the expedition has travelled across Colombia twice in less than four years: First from Cali to Cartagena and then from Cartagena to Bogota. Two editions of an initiation journey that for many years has captured the hearts and minds of the Colombian people. So much so that more than 100 young Colombians have taken part in its 31 editions.
