Knowing how to manage money and financial tools is essential for the well-being of individuals and society as a whole. In response to this need, BBVA is offering financial education programs for people of all ages and backgrounds.

There are around 170,000 small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in Uruguay. They create more than 60% of jobs and are responsible for more than 40% of the industrial, trade and services sectors’ production. The importance of this sector for the country’s economy has led BBVA Uruguay to join the regional project 'Camino al éxito' ('The Road to Success'), a program integrated in the BBVA Group’s Responsible Business Plan. The main goal is to increase the number of SME customers.

A small country surrounded by giants, Uruguay always knew it would have to work hard to claim its spot in the region. And it surely has: besides its traditional agricultural production and its booming and popular tourist industry, the country now strides ahead confidently into the 21st century, with a thriving software sector.

More than 100 years old, the changes that the building has undergone are a testament to our evolution as a country.
