Founded in 2011, the platform by Garanti BBVA has received more than three million visitors in ten years thanks to its original offer of content and activities. The entity encourages participation and learning and preserves collective memory, which it makes available to future generations through freely accessible archives and research resources, as well as exhibits and programs.

BBVA Global Wealth (GW), the BBVA Group private global banking unit has entered into an agreement with art advisory firm We Collect to expand its art advisory services to customers in Spain and Switzerland. One of BBVA GW’s goals is to promote non-financial art-related issues, incorporating new opportunities for customers throughout 2020.

On Sunday, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston opened its latest in a long line of collaborations with BBVA USA: The traveling exhibition Glory of Spain: Treasures from the Hispanic Society Museum & Library.

The exhibition ‘Sound Art?’, sponsored exclusively by the BBVA Foundation, addresses the issue of sound in art and raises the possibility of this aesthetic category. The art show explores the presence of sound elements in 20th Century visual arts. Curated by the expert Arnau Horta, the exhibit is open to visitors at the Joan Miró Foundation in Barcelona from October 26, 2019  through February 23, 2020.

BBVA and AEG, as part of its multi-year agreement, are jump starting the second round of BBVA Music Sessions starting on August 30 in Houston, celebrating the 183rd year since Houston was founded with a free concert in the heart of downtown. Powered by AXS, the kickoff of the award-winning concert series is headlined by platinum-certified singer-songwriter Alec Benjamin, who started taking over playlists with his now RIAA platinum certified single “Let Me Down Slowly” from his critically acclaimed debut mixtape “Narrated For You.” Most recently, the young artist released his spellbinding and biographical new single “Jesus in LA” alongside an official video that tackles the highs and lows in the city of Angels. Joining Alec will be MAX, who is fresh off his iHeartRadio Music Awards nomination as 2019's Best New Pop Artist and known for his global hit 'Lights Down Low'.

Art as an investment is gaining momentum as a way to help diversify wealthy customers’ portfolios. BBVA’s global private banking unit, Global Wealth, has an agreement with the consulting firm The Fine Art Group to offer its customers comprehensive art advisory services. The goal is for high net-worth customers to understand and manage art as an investment.

The exhibition “Thing Indescribable” by Jenny Holzer will be open to the public until September 9th. Sponsored by the BBVA Foundation, the exhibition consists of a wide range of artwork created specifically for the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao. BBVA Foundation Director Rafael Pardo, Guggenheim Museum Bilbao Director Juan Ignacio Vidarte, the artist Jenny Holzer and curator Petra Joos attended the opening event.

The exhibition brings together nearly 200 works reconstructing some of the lesser known phases of Surrealism in the 1930s,1940s, and early 1950s – through the lens of Lee Miller. The exhibition is organized like a dialog between Miller's photographs and works by artists such as Max Ernst, Leonora Carrington, Man Ray, Eileen Agar, Paul Nash, Salvador Dalí, Giorgio de Chirico, Joan Miró, Pablo Picasso, Maruja Mallo, Dora Maar, and others.

BBVA Group Executive Chairman Francisco González and José Pedro Pérez-Llorca, the President of the Board of Trustees of the Museo del Prado, today  inaugurated the first major exhibition dedicated solely to the portraits of Lorenzo Lotto. Jointly organized with the National Gallery of London, the show is exclusively sponsored by the BBVA Foundation.

The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao opens "Chagall. The Breakthrough Years, 1911-1919," sponsored by the BBVA Foundation.  The exhibition, which runs through September 2, consists of more than 80 early paintings and drawings by the Russian-born French artist.

The BBVA Historical Archive is a private business archive that traces its roots back 160 years, to the bank´s founding in 1857. Located in Bilbao, it houses the basic documentation of the three banks that would later form BBVA: Banco de Bilbao, Banco de Vizcaya and Argentaria. During the 19th and most of 20th Century, their geographical context was largely limited to Spain; it was only at the end of the 20th century that BBVA began its international expansion.

When Juan Vespucci drew the first complete image of the world, 500 years ago, he could have never imagined that his Mapa Mundi would be flying around the world from a still not very well traced location in North America. 200 artistic treasures from the most prominent collection of Spanish art outside the Iberian Peninsula have travelled from the home of the Hispanic Society of New York, to dress up the walls of the Prado Museum, from April 4th through September 10th.

While the U.S. consolidated its role as an international power in the mid-20th Century, New York overtook Paris as the global epicenter of Western art. The paintings of the new American artists who conquered the world -Pollock, Rothko, de Kooning and Motherwell- can be seen at the Guggenheim Museum’s exhibit in Bilbao, Abstract Expressionism, sponsored by the BBVA Foundation.

In 1939, composer Steve Reich was a boy taking a train from New York to Los Angeles to visit his divorced parents. Meanwhile, other children in Europe – Jews, just like him – were taking trains to Nazi extermination camps. Fifty years later, the contrast between his childhood memories and the horror of the Holocaust inspired Different Trains. Beatriz Caravaggio offers a video re-creation of the musical piece.

The Crack is the field diary of two journalists trying to understand what is going on in the European Union. A journalistic comic book, published with support from the BBVA Foundation, where photographer Carlos Spottorno and journalist Guillermo Abril recount their experiences from the boundaries of a Europe in crisis.
