BBVA, first bank to issue recycled plastic cards in Argentina
As part of its commitment to sustainability, BBVA has become the first institution in Argentina to launch recycled plastic cards, 85.5 percent made of PVC (polyvinyl chloride), produced from recycled plastic.
On the occasion of World Soil Day, which is celebrated tomorrow, December 5, to remind the community of the importance of caring for the environment, BBVA shows its commitment to the fight against climate change with initiatives that contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals.
BBVA became the first institution in Argentina to launch recycled plastic cards, 85.5 percent made of PVC (polyvinyl chloride), which comes from other plastic waste. The recycled materials come from various industries including packaging, printing, automotive, and windows. The product will be available to customers who renew their Visa International and Visa Gold credit cards by April 2021 and will be distinguished with a ‘sustainability seal.’ Later, this will be extended to all BBVA credit and debit cards.
At BBVA we have a firm commitment to the implementation of initiatives that contribute to sustainability.
