Jaime Sáenz de Tejada named best CFO in Europe in 2015
BBVA Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jaime Sáenz de Tejada has been named the best CFO in Europe. There were a total of 100 participants in this category. Likewise, Mr. Sáenz de Tejada has been voted the leading CFO in the European banking sector, out of a total of 93 banks, and first in Spain, a category with 47 participants.
Jaime Sáenz de Tejada has been BBVA’s CFO since March 2014. Prior to taking this position, he was the director of Spain and Portugal. Previously, he was the CEO of BBVA Banco Continental in Peru and the Director of Corporate and Investment Banking in America, among other responsibilities.
BBVA’s Investor Relations team has also achieved excellent results in the 2015 edition of this prestigious survey. BBVA’s Investor Relations team was ranked first in Spain, a category which had 66 participants, and it also grabbed the top spot among European banks, out of a total of 100 financial institutions.
The performance shown by BBVA’s Investor Relations department, which boasts a team of highly trained professionals who specialize in all the Group’s business areas and a deep knowledge of the analyst and investor community, has been key to placing BBVA at the top of the survey. The Extel 2015 survey shows that the market has recognized the efforts made by the Investor Relations team and its results.
